December 4 Whidbey Water Keepers Forum: Getting Clear About Our Water

It's been a year since breaking news that wells around Outlying Field Coupeville and Ault Field at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island were found to be contaminated with perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from aqueous film forming foam, used by the Navy for firefighting.

Join Whidbey Water Keepers for an update on PFAS contamination at its upcoming forum on Monday December 4th, at the Coupeville High School commons from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Food is available by donation, starting at 5PM - there will be Ciao pizza, soup, salad and snacks.

At the forum, you'll learn more about PFAS contamination in our sole source aquifer, policy options as well as current and proposed efforts to eliminate the most common sources of PFAS from our environment, including information from affected water systems across our state.

Topics and Speakers:

Central Whidbey Groundwater: Where Does It Come From and Where Does it Go?

Doug Kelly, Hydrogeologist, Island County Public Health

Washington State Chemical Action Plan: How Could This Make a Difference?
